  • Kelli-Belle Gone West

It has happened, Kelli-Belle died at 7:30AM ,Tues. Nov 23, 2010 . She has been buried with her favorite toy , milk-bone & chewy bone back by the Pond on the Airport here in Alliance, Oh (2D1).
She apparently got into some rat poison somewhere ( we had not used it in several years) .
We worked with the vet , Dr. Cunningham for four days with no improvement. This poison prevented her blood from clotting properly, she rallied with predazone & K-1 the first two days . Then Patty stayed up all night with her last night. She was moaning this morning , could not eat, drink or walk. Daddy had to help her go over to the other side.
We know she is in Doggy Heaven with no pain & and lots of Rabbits to chase. She , like Daddy loved Tortillas & Parties She did have nine really good years here with us.
Damn I can't type any more with the tears in my eyes. Back tomorrow ; maybe!! Better pictures too! Thank u Bob for the reply......

bye from Forrest ( Daddy) & Patty ( Mommy).

Sorry for your lose. The last trip to the vet is the worst thing you ever have to do. 4 times for me, all Welsh Corgi's. We now have a one year old and a 5 year.

Sorry to hear about Kelli-Belle, it is always tough to lose a faithful companion.

I have made that last trip to the vet as well, it is the hardest thing I ever had to do.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I've been there a few times myself, so I have some idea how you feel. Some dogs can be better friends than the human kind. Please don't blame yourself.

                          Re: Kelli-Belle Gone West

                          That's bad news, Forrest.

Just this week I was looking at stuff on the Taylorcraft.org website, and reminded myself of the photos of Kelli-Belle and Tucker Hound.

Bob, our illustrious webmaster, lost Tuckerhound January last year. Tuckerhound had his own website, and looking at it brought a smile and a tear.

As a reminder of how we humans have grown to love animals, here's a snippet from the Tuckerhound's blog above:

I don't remember much before I was dumped at the Exxon station. Some nice people at the Lone Star Basset Rescue in Houston took me in and got me a foster home.

My Humans found me on the internet and adopted me in June of 2000. They loaded me in their car at a Shell station at Greenspoint. I guess I have some kind of affection for Gas and Oil. Good thing the Humans keep a lot of Internal Combustion anything around here.

I should mention to all you girls that I am bowlegged in my front left. It dont slow me down none, but sometimes I trip and skid when I am running. Its just part of my charm. Slobber. The walls are alive with my dried slobber. I try to hit a band from 18" to about 50" on every wall. So far, Success! Things to add later: Favorite foods: Organic (expensive) Bread! Any food item in a plastic bag on the kitchen counter.

In fact it only needs to look like food to be food. Slobber everywhere, no wall is safe! My Bed, My Pillow. The Kat; Bowser. I hate it when he gets within a foot of me when I am sleeping on the bed. Even worse when he puts his claws on me and does the wave. I tried humping him a couple of times, he thinks he is getting petted, Ha!

The other Kat PoRKch0P; she is a bit of a prissy girl. But she leaves me alone most of the time. She sleeps in the Jeep truck in the back yard when she is not in the house, almost like living in a van down by the river! I been taking Cat skinning lessons on my New 1947 D2 Cat!
Now Kelli-Belle and Tuckerhound can meet in the afterlife, and at last look down upon and laugh at us humans.

                              Forrest,

As one of the many who have been where you are, may I suggest that, after whatever mourning period you may need, you welcome another four legged soul into your home. When we had to put down "Jazz", I never thought I would be able to have another dog again. It felt like my heart had been ripped in two. But my wife insisted she wanted a particular breed and fairly soon. We now have "Hannah", my little girl. I wouldn't take everything I own for her.
