John, you are right about "Talkin' Tcraft". I just spent about 45 minutes talking to Mr. Gregory and feel like hopping in the car and driving all the way to Fairbanks to pick that guy's brain. It's only -40 Deg. F up there right now...I guess I will wait till it warms up!
I asked him if it would be ok to put his phone number on the forum...he said ok.
(907)479-4125. He just got a computer and is hoping to get online next week. He will be an interesting and unique addition to the "Tribe". He is from a family of pilots...his grandmother and mother were both instructors and his dad flew the bush and on into the 737 era...so he brings some heritage to the mix. Dick

Thanks guys for all the input, I will contact Greg Clayton and see if he will authorize a copy of the STC for use on other Taylorcraft BC12-D's.
          Thanks for all the help

              Re: Plans / Drawings

              Hi folks,
I did skylights in my '46 on a 337 and got all the paperwork done many years ago. I did the triangle shape lights and really like them. I can look for the paperwork if anyone wants to look at what I have. I think it is in the 25# pile of 337's, AD's and STC's. No wonder my climb speed is getting slower.

I would like to see your triangle skylights. I want to do that on my plane and an existing 337 would be a big help.
                Best Regards,

Carri, do you still have this plane with the sky lights? If so I may have to make a weekend trek up as I would love to see them. I have liked them since I first saw them in pics. L

Larry, you asked (on another thread) about my skylight.

                    Re: Nc43121 - 1946 bc12d
How do you like the full sky light? Ok, too bright, too hot, or just right! L

As you pointed out, I have the full skylight. It is installed per the Greg Clayton STC discussed above. I purchased the STC from him several years ago when I lived in Fairbanks. I love it. I don't find it too bright or too hot. I really like the increased visibility. I am 6'-1" tall and so my head is up above the wing root. The increased visibility in a left or right bank is very significant and a big improvement in safety. I've never found myself too hot in a Tcraft! Of course, being in Alaska probably contributes to that phenomena.

I too bought Greg's STC several years ago, I love it, lots of guys told me it would be to hot, since then I've moved to "Gun City", Georgia, as in Hotlanta, I've never noticed it being too hot inside, but the visibility is great, Tom

Thanks for these replies, just the info I was looking for. I had already decided I was not going to put in a headliner, to much weight for no gain in speed. L

                          Hi guys.
I will go out tomorrow and take some pics of my triangle skyilghts. I like them as they don't have a ton of sun coming in, but still I can see out of them on steep turns. They also had extra light to a dark cabin. Once I post the pics, send me a snail mail address and I will send copies to whomever wants. I based mine from an approved 337 for a whole roof skylight. If you decide to try it, I can talk you through some of the things that are not real clear on the 337. I must have been clear enough though as the FAA stamped it approved.

I'll take some pics of my headliner/rear cmpt liner when I do the pics for the skylights.

I too would like to see the drawings and associated 337 for the triangle skylight.
If you post them in PDF format it would save the trouble of mailing out a bunch of copies.

                              Thanks
