  • Aviation employment wanted in the Northwest

    Greetings Tribe,

This not exactly Tcraft related, but I work with a young A & P that is looking to relocate somewhere in the Northwest next Spring. He mentioned Portland, OR but would consider WA as well. Anyone up there have any leads or suggestions?

    Thanks,

There is an FBO in Montana looking for an A&P, but they need one now. Tim

Evergreen Airlines in McMinnville, OR is hiring pilots and spooling up to add airplanes. I don't think they work on the 747s there, but they do a lot of other maintenance there. Also the FBO at the Kelso airport in Longview, WA adds summer help in their shop. There are several repair shops at Scapoose, OR (SPB) that he could apply to.

          Just a thought

Boeing is in Seattle and in Everett Wa. Everett has a facility called Goodrich, now owned by ATS. Large aircraft, maybe higher pay. The contract shops, such as STS, Planetechs and others are usually looking for people there. They may be willing to give you a little travel expense.

Depending on where specifically in the NW your friend wants to relocate to, there are small shops at many of the airports. Scapoose SPS, just NW of Portland has several small shops that work on light planes. There are also a couple of engineering places working on new designs, one of them a jet. There is a huge amount of repair and engineering work at Aurora, just South of Portland. That is where Van's Aircraft is located. There is a repair facility at Pearson VUO, and Kelso KLS. Also at Portland Int'l PDX there is a major repair facility called Flightcraft. They work on King Airs, Citations, and other corporate iron. In the Seattle area Olympia is a hot bed of research and engineering activity. Tacoma Narrows TIW has a lot of light plane maintenance. There are numerous places at Boeing Field BFI, and also Everett PAE to the north. Also Thun Field PLU has several maint shops. If he has any other questions, get in touch and I will be glad to help.
