  • Looking for N95927

    I'm looking for N95927. Ser. 8227. Should be a BC12-D.

I checked the FAA and it is reported as "Sale Reported."

The reason I'm looking is because I have most of the original log books and paperwork for the airplane. It was all in a bunch of stuff that my Dad bought.

I'd like to see it go back to the actual owner.

If you've seen or heard of this airplane, please let me know.

    Erik

Well, I guess they won't need the logbooks.....

        Re: Looking for N95927

You never know. The wreck could be in a barn somewhere just waiting for some nut case to find it and bring it back. Sounds like a description of one of us in the tribe!
I would send the logs to the foundation in case someone wants them some day. I bet there could be some interesting reading in them too. Haven't seen a set of old Taylorcraft logs that didn't have something interesting in them.
I just got a letter from a prior owner and we have been talking. Turns out NC-36296 was there for the launch of Apollo 11! Being a "BIT" of a "space nut" that was REALLY EXCITING to me. I didn't get to go and see it, but my plane did!

Never put the central Florida entries at the end of July in 1969 together with Apollo 11.
If nobody else wants to store them, I will!

If you have the logs and someone else has the wreckage, you're half owner...

            Now there's a thought......

Maybe I should find the wreck and claim it as my own.

              Re: Looking for N95927

This is interesting because my first airplane was a Taylorcraft BC12D N96927 that I bought in 1964, flew it for >500 hrs and made the big mistake of selling it around 1969. I saw it at a fly-in at Rough River, KY in about 1975 after someone had had a mechanic school re-cover it in Frankfort, KY. I found it in the Landings data base a few times then, recently it disappeared. After reading this thread on N95927 I went to the FAA registration web site and found this:
              FAA REGISTRY

Is anyone in this group famaliar with either of these gentlemen? I am curious as to why they de-registered it. The NTSB data base has no record of it being involved in an accident.

I guess I'll have to snail mail these folks to see what happened to my old airplane.
