Could someone "please" help me with this drawing "BC-A014", there is a Taylorcraft owner that wants to install the starter assembly on his aircraft!

I need the drawing for the modification.

                Thank You

Look for someone with bruised up legs.

They are neat, but there is a reason a lot of planes don't have them. If I could find one, I would want it, but I doubt I would ever use it!

My BC12D-1 s/n 10074 had one installed in it, when I bought it. The cowl had been cobbled to accomodate the ratchet and spinner, and I thought that was ugly. It was difficult to use in the Taylorcraft; the operating arm swung horizontally across your knees. It was a recipe for a bruising of knuckles and knees! There really wasn't enough room. I had an Aeronca 11AC Chief at one point that had one, and it worked far better, there was a lot more room, and the lever was swung through a vertical arc. I removed the contraption from the BC12D-1 when rebuilding, and sold it happily (to someone in the T.O.C. through an ad in the old newsletter), and never missed it. To my knowledge, I never had a drawing for the installation, only a logbook entry.

Charles: I THINK I have spoken with you by phone. I would really like to have one of those spinners for my BC12D with a McCauley metal prop! Can you make me one? and.......how much? JC

The Aeronca spinner assembly is 12" dia., large compared to the Taylorcraft nose bowl. It would help to clarify the dimensions with the Taylorcraft drawing.

                            JC,

I am working on a smaller diameter spinner for the J-4 and J-5 that would match the Taylorcraft nose bowl, 10" dia.

I tried to call you Friday, when is a proper time to call?

Do you have any pictures of the aircraft with the installation?
