  • F-19 Restoration

    Hello group,
I have recently started my restoration of N37YD an F-19, serial F-108 that landed in some trees in MT by the previous owner. I purchased the plane complete, minus the firewall forward, so I am in the process of acquiring an engine, mount, nose bowl cowling ect... So I have several questions for the group:

    1. Is there a STC for upgrading to an O-235 from an O-200 on a 1978 F-19? If so where can I find it?

    2. Is the F-19 tube fuselage the same fuse as the 46' postwar model?
If so.. I have a pristine 46' fuse lined up for a few hundred bucks.

    3. If I build the plane up with the new fuse and using all other components off the original F-19, can I use the old Data plate or will this be a huge hassle with the FAA?

Any response will be greatly appreciated.

    Re: F-19 Restoration

The F-19 is ATC 1A9 ; the BC12D is ATC 696 . Pretty hard to jump TC's. Are you an A&P? e-mail dme direct [email protected] We can figure out things to do with your collection......

i did it once a number of years ago with an F-21. I am sure it would be harder today to get it done
