Re: Holes
In my experience almost EVERY plane is different, but every data point will get you a little closer. The rudder cables don't even come out in the same place on both sides on mine.
Once you get some tape spots on the fabric from where others say theirs come out you can pierce the fabric with a needle and dental floss from the most aft fairlead to the rudder arm and see which way the thread pulls for the next try. The needle shouldn't damage the fabric if you are careful and don't break the fibers. If you are careful most of the needle holes will fall under the leather patch over the hole and the rest will fill in with a little dope.

Re: Holes
On Tim's T I had the old fabric to measure and still spent one entire evening locating the new. I to put a small hole, then pulled cable and slit to the exact location. I worked out well for me, but I knew where it was supposed to be. However I had no slack as there are no leather patch's to cover mistakes. She did not get them the last recover which lasted 28 years so we did not do them this time either. Larry"I'm from the FAA and we're not happy, until your not happy."
