  • question about Taylorcraft NC96731

?Does anyone know anything about the history of 1946 Taylorcraft BC12D NC96761 currently listed on Barnstormers under "Tcraft 1946 BC12D fly home"?
apparently the seller has only owned it a very short time, and seems to not know much about it. Located in NW MO near Warrensburg.
    Thanks, Dale Jewett

    Dale,

Even if someone does chime in soon with info on the plane you are looking at, you might consider investing ten bucks with the FAA to get the CD with all the 337 & STC records.

Other than that, a through pre-buy inspection by a mechanic familiar with Taylorcraft would be a good way to know what you are buying.

    Good luck!

Is it at DJ Short's? If so, give him a call and he should be able to give you a good prebuy on it

I forgot to mention that I have already ordered the $10.00 CD from the FAA. The plane is not located at D.J. Short's field, but I am trying to contact him for a possible pre-buy inspection. He has done metal work for me in the past, and is very competent. The plane is actually located at an un-listed private ultralight strip only 1S and 1W of Skyhaven airport. Since the owner seems to not know too much about it, I was hoping that someone on this forum might have some useful information.
