Mag Switch handle

Can anyone tell me how the lever comes off the mag switch? Mine is the original Briggs & Stratton AAF type A7
Id like to Paint it and I think I can do a better job if its off.

It MAY...I repeat MAY .....have a small keeper pin in it that goes thru the shaft and has been painted over.JC

Mine had a spring wire retainer under the lever part of the handle that engaged the shaft under the center round part.

Boy, that is clear as mud isn't it? What you really need is a picture of one taken apart. I would wait till you see one. You DON'T want to bend the lever up!
