I decided to inspect the inards of the mags on my tcraft as they are original and sat idle for 30+ years. I have put about 50hrs on them since its been back flying. I found the bearings were fine but needed fresh grease. This is what we suspected we would find, they were working fine just old and needed to be checked. The thing I found that I wasnt expecting was one of the point cams has a small crack through the side where the keyway is cut. (the thinest spot in it). Soo Does anyone have an eissman AM4 laying around with a servicable point cam?

Re: help eissman mag part needed !
Try Al at Savage, 510-782-7081 or http://www.webspawner.com/users/eisemann/ (says he has 2 NOS but no price). El Reno used to be a great parts source but I can't find their web page today. Senior moment or are they having some problem?
If I get the chance I will check my stash of Eisemann parts today too. I'm rebuilding two also.

While you have them apart you may want to peek @ your Rotating Magnets.
Specifically where the Oil Seal makes contact. Or should.
I am a fan of Eisemann's but finding a groove in the Magnet is the end of the line.
Bendix uses a replaceable sleeve at the same point.

Re: help eissman mag part needed !
I have eissman mags on my current 65hp. They seem to work well and the former owner liked them, (as he naturally would seeing as he was selling the airplane) How do others feel? Are they pretty reliable? Better than Slicks? I'd Appreciate your views on this. JC
