When I removed the cover from my wings, I noticed that there wasn't any inter-rib lacing tape. Is this the norm, or should I plan on putting it in before I recover? Some of the ribs are bowed a bit (which I assume is from the fabric not being properly shrunk) and it would appear that this could be prevented with the tape. Any thoughts?

I used the lacing tape, simply because it is cheap and easy to apply, but difficult to install after!
I also used clear sticky tape over the rib caps...this allows the fabric to slide easily over the ribs as it is shrunk. -

Mine also didn't have any,but im putting it in now.Im also putting a double layer of fabric on the leading edge to smooth the surface.
Which System are you using?

It seems that I would be doing the right thing by putting the tape in. I haven't decided whether to use Polyfiber or Stewarts. They both have a good rep. I've got lots of work to do before I get there.
P.S. It would be challenging to install the tape after covering.EAA 93346 TF #863

The inter-rib lacing keeps the ribs straight prior to rib stitching. Once stitched it has no purpose.
As my supplies run out, I buy dope by the 55gal drum, I plan to switch to the Stewarts System.

I had a mouse chew off my rib stiching and diagonal lacing. Re-rib stiching was no big deal, the rib lacing was a lot harder. FAA said it did nothing after cover BUT, it was part of the STC'd covering process so it had to be there.
