  • "Having the vents work and look good too".

RE: Norm's comment in the fuel valve thread.

I know everyone is going to cringe at this, but the vent lines signed off on a 337 for my -85 install, years ago, appear to be Tygon tubing.

There is a T fitting at the top of the center tank. One line goes to each side of the plane via the space under the panel and then up the side post to the wing tanks.

I don't know for sure how long the tubes have been installed, but I can vouch that they are still intact, not discolored, and flexible.

Light weight and still working fine.

The irony being that the -85 install works perfectly without any changes to the fuel lines or vents.

    Why change what works?

I suppose there was concern that someone would try to put 6 gallons in from the upper tank when the main tank was only 5 gallons down.
      Messy.

With the vent lines and a sealed cap you put in 5 gallons and it stops flowing without spilling anywhere (right?)

      Idiot proof "safety."
