Re: Complete BL-65 rebuild Looking for comments and and thoughts

They are coming tomorrow to survey my beautiful T-Craft and total it. (Hangar collapse) I do not want it or parts of it. Makes me too upset. So...Larry and others I shall tell appraiser (Avemco) that others are interested in parts, engine, (65 w/300 hrs since major) polished prop, (not hurt) Interior is fine, 1 year old, VERY well done, white headliner, blue panel, red leather/cloth seats, red floor mat, good glass all around. Wings a mess but probably many good parts. Excellent wheel pants which he hand made from a mould, longer and MUCH better looking than original, Fusalage is sprung over passenger door so entire airplane will have to comeapart. Cowling, engine comp. looks ok. JC

      Jim,

I'm sure they told you but just in case they are going to want to see the log books

Here's a couple of pics for inspiration... These were taken at LaGrange TX in 2004. The orange BL-65 - I believe came in from East TX. The White BC-65 is my father in law's airplane. The two airplanes are both 1939 models close in mfg date NC22207 and NC22249

Jim I am in the market for wheel pants. I have the video but no tools to make a pair.
With a Lycoming O-145 I need all the speed mods I can get. A/C Spruce has the cams if needed.
Do they have the center seam? Next to hardware that's what matters most.
Will you accept an offer? I can go anything reasonable. Just let me know.

So sorry to learn about your bird. Real tragedy.

Will it be parted out or did they say anything about a restoration? I know Dennis will be disappointed.

The T Craft was purchased for 6 grand by a local T Craft owner who has 3 T Crafts (one on floats.) If he wants to part with parts I shall return with a list. I know he will use the engine which only has 300 hrs SMOH. Winshield is cracked. Struts are gone. Interior is fine. Wheel pants are very nice and are intact as is trailing edge to tail, including 3200 Scott. JC
