Could be wrong but Krogs aquired the TOC from Bixler.
Newletter was fancier but so was the membership fee.
The other sounds like a local group (regional). Website didn't work for me.

The Wisconsin TOC I believe is the official site. That is the place that I send my dues and receive a newsletter.

VCTOC is currently dormant. Tom is not flying any more as far as I know which is a real shame. He is a great ambassador of all things Taylorcraft and a good friend to all.
That's Tom holding his hat in his hand in front of his plane with a group of admirers. Ray B. on the left and my dad on the far right.

For what it is worth, I did not find the Wisconsin based newsletter worth the cost of renewal this year. Anyone else have any comments? PS: I did like the renewal card. Doc

What is the "Wisconsin based newsletter"? Is there another one out there I don't know about?
            Hank

Maybe they need some articles, they sure need some advertising if we don't know about them!

              Re: Taylorcraft Owners Club(s)

The Wisconsin based newsletter is the one put out by Steve Krog. It is not bad reading, but for $35 + $5 for shipping for just 4 issues per year, I also do not intend to renew.

The email address implies it is affiliated with Taylorcraft ending with; @taylorcraftoc.org. But I am fairly sure they also print newsletters for a couple of other airplane types. I have not heard if they own the type club or not.

The articles are not bad. But they are just rehashes of stuff that anyone familiar with Taylorcraft or general aviation has seen before.

The renewal card was an oversized postcard with a very nice red and black Taylorcraft and the "flying wing" Taylorcraft emblem on the front.

If I were going to spend $40 on a subscription, I would just buy a monthly publication with color pictures like Plane & Pilot, Flying, or something like that.

Questions about foundation membership. When do they expire? do we get a renewal notice?? or do we just send in our money???

I bellieve they expire at the end of the year and it is our responsibility to re-new

                      Re: Taylorcraft Owners Club(s)

Even EAA changes its mind each year. The Taylorcraft Owner's Club was formed in 1972 at Barber Airport in Alliance, Oh.. All this history is in the Taylorcraft Foundation electronic newsletters posted on the discussion forumn. READ them all , they explain the evolution.
Tom Pittman with the VCTOC was a regional part of the TOC and Foundation. Tom is in a rest home, the site has been pulled , he is receiving our electronic newsletter from the Foundation , they are all at

read them from bottom up: also remember we DO HAVE out own web site www.taylorcraft.org and a whole bunch of stuff is there.
At the moment, Taylorcraft Foundation maintains the website , discussion forumn, puts on the Fly-In at Alliance each year and welcomes members to view and use the approx. 28,000 drawings we have here.
EACH new company has given me fits on our using this information. They are not even answering my inquiries at the moment. I have just got back from two weeks of dealing with older relatives and rest homes, Medicare, Medikaid and the whiole Government mess surrounding health care. ; NOt me! but others int he family. We had two members in on Sunday and I handled three phone calls too! Bob Ollerton's ship is coming along nicely, I checked on it today . As soon as My Aunt Virginia gets back into her home on Tues. ; there is a wee light at the end of the tunnel. YES I could use help here, there is a new copy center in Alliance that will help ot a lot.
Our next newsletter will include a few technical articles on struts, brakes, shock cords , etc....
