I have been playing around here trying to find a way to send a photo of a part I am trying to identify. Would someone please help my sorry brain figure out how to do this? If nothing else, send me an email and I will send you a pic to post. Thank you, Larry Huntley [email protected]

Re: what is it?
Larry,
I can really sympathize. Took me FOREVER to get it to work, but it isn’t really that hard.
1) Drag a copy of the picture someplace where you can find it (like on to your desktop)
2) Hit the “post reply” button at the lower left of this message.
3) Type your message in the blank field
4) Scroll down and press the “Manage Attachments” button
5) A box will come up and you need to press the top “Browse” button
6) Another box will pop up with some icons on the left. If you put the picture somewhere easy to find, like maybe on the desk top, just press “desktop”, find the picture and select it. It should appear in the box to the left of the “browse” button you hit before.
7) Press the upper “upload” button, and this is the part I always screwed up. WAIT till you get an indication that the upload is complete.
8) When you go back to the message the picture name should be under the message.
My big mistake was always leaving the “manage attachments” window before the picture was finished loading. If I did, the whole thing didn’t work.

Re: what is it?
lol
the one on the right is a fuselage, so is the one in the middle
looks good!
My first guess about the one on the left is that they are part of the fairings that cover the cables on the inside under the door. They look like they could be the vertical portion for the left and right side under the door, which implies that there are 2 horz. pieces somewhere. Usually they are one piece. That's my best first guess.Last edited by Guest; 01-03-2010, 19:19.

Re: what is it?
Thank you Dave,
First photo is "What is it?" Second is the front of the belly. Is something missing here? I have extra tabs. Third is a photo to try to show what I have been asking about in the past. I am putting a plane together from a few photos that were taken when it was mostly torn down and most of the fabric was discarded. Most of what I have done is from witness marks in the already dissassembled parts. Wings and feathers were not a problem. I have those done ready for finish paint. Thanx for any suggestions. Larry

Nothing missing, they all have extra tabs. Perhaps they reused some other part here to save $.
For eample that metal stap with two holes (tab) may also be used to for a pulley holder for brakes, rudder... and it was cheaper to use the same stamping for welded on attach points rather than make the exact fit part.

Re: what is it?
I think that is it. I have the large cable covers that go up against the front doorpost in your pic and it looks like my mystery parts go to the rear of those. Hmmm, never thunk of that. Will check it in the AM.
Thanx to everyone for all the help and to Dave for posting for me.
I really will figure it out Hank.

Re: what is it?
Thank Dave,
I wondered if they had some wood reinforcement there ,but I think you are correct. I have seen a lot of that extra tab stuff on Pipers and Funks. Larry

Re: what is it?
The old ones in mine fit terrible. I made new ones from thin cardboard then cut them from aluminum. The new ones are a perfect fit and I didn't waste ANYWHERE like the amount of aluminum I thought I would. I think I only threw away one piece out of the whole set. They really make a difference in the look of the cockpit. Go for it!
