I am not familiar with the Juptner book. I have not looked at the library site as of this writing. It, and the foundation are on my "to do list". We do not have the data plate. I rummaged through the remains and even went back to the site where we removed the aircraft with a rake and found no other pieces. We were pretty thorough when we removed the aircraft.

The set of books are U.S. Civil Aircraft by Joseph P. Juptner, you need Vol 7 ATC numbers 601 to 700. Taylorcrafts are ATC 696 , 699 & 700 . Other Taylorcrafts are in other volumes. Make nice , somebody may send you a copy of the pages you need. # 330, 331, 332, 333 ( your ship) , and 334.
I have two sets here for reference of all ATC's .

I have a full set of the Juptner books and can make a copy of the pages (now that I know which ones we are talking about).
Shoot me an email at hjarrett 2 @ cox . net and I will make a jpg of the pages.

              Re: Newbie here

OK, print is too fine and photos of the pages aren't working well enough to email. There are only 4 pages to copy for that whole section so how about I just photocopy the pages and mail them? If you don't have your copy of Chet's book yet I will copy the pages he reference too.
When you are ready let me know. I have all the patterns for the original windshield and will send you copies of that too (got to finish tracing all the parts for one of the other Tribe members).
              Hank
By the way, for whoever that was, hit me with another message. I was about to send them to Richard Pearson and noticed he wanted the "D" windows, not the flat 4 piece patterns. Who wanted the flat 4 piece?
I have GOT to get it together!

                    Mike,
Yes, you were one of them. I should have the templates traced this week (if the Augustine commission results don't flip my world up-side-down again).

                        Re: Newbie here

                        Found the file with the names. Looks like the list of folks looking for 4 piece flat windshield templates are;
Mike Jones, Frank McQuaide, Bob Coolbaugh, Warren Brown and Carl Carlson. Considering how long it took me to get the ^$%*$^%*! glass to fit I wonder how many of you have up on my ever getting it done!
If there are any others chime in now. It shouldn't take as long to trace the parts and mail them as it took to get mine to fit.
BIG DISCLAIMER!!! MY TEMPLATES WILL NOT FIT YOUR PLANE! It is just your starting place to trim and fit to make it tight on yours. As to one old question on how the front is held to the boot, according to Forrest (if I understood right) IT ISN'T! The air pressure holds the seal tight. Those tabs under the boot are NOT used to bolt the aluminum strips to the frame.

No worries here! I'm happy to get the those whenever you can. Thanks again for your time to do this and the offer to the tribe!

                            George,

I'll email the picture to you, I've got your email address. I just decided to change to a shot of my dog for a change. You can't see it on the small avatar, but there's a bunch of water flying around because he's shaking off after a swim in Lake Michigan up by Washington Island.

                                Re: Newbie here

BTW, we try to take lots of pix of these projects as we do them. See http://www.jrd.org/nate/ for a long list of pix of stuff we've worked on.

The tcraft project starts 05/31/08 with pix of the tcraft and a cub being pulled out the woods (literally). Subsequent weekends show pix of whatever we're working on, these days it's mostly the tcraft.

Our most spectacular project so far has been the P26 reproduction. A lot of the earlier stuff is focussed on that.

                                Enjoy the pix...
