  • gascolator mounting

OK, this one's got me stumped. It looks like the gascolator mounts on the left side of the engine mount on that tab. There's a hole in the top of my gascolator (1/4" pipe thread it looks like)...does it mount there with a pipe through the tab somehow? Maybe I'm missing some pieces or something.

And what about the primer suction line, doesn't that connect to the top of the gascolator?

Thanks David, the picture does help.
Looks like your gascolator is supported by a Tee through the engine mount tab. One side of the Tee is connected to the tank via a -5 (?) hose, and the other side of the Tee is connected to the primer suction line.

My gascolator looks just like yours, a Tillotson. Mine has another port (1/8" pipe thread) on the side not shown in the photo. I'll assume there's a plug in that port.

The other port is for the primer, if you have one.

Not required in the pictured installation.

          Re: gascolator mounting

The whole thing has to line up as it is tightened up, pipe thread you know. so sometimes a little filing on the top or an aluminum washer has to be used....sealant too! Davids is not original , no aircraft stuff back then . I will try to find a picture.

Does anyone have an extra gascolator for sale? George
