  • T-Craft Cd's

I'm looking to purchase the T-craft CD's that have been compiled, can anyone get some for me. I have a feeling that Forrest isn't able to recieve my emails (I've emailed about 7-8 times and haven't had a reply back over the past month/month and a half.) and i have also sent a private msg via this forum. I've paid my membership, but haven't gotten my membership number yet either. Forrest if you're reading this can you check and see if you got any emails from [email protected], [email protected]. Sorry for the post.

Thanks Forrest. I was having a feeling it was my email address that wasn't getting through.

Forest, What do the cd's contain? I've seen reference to cd's that apparently contain original drawings, schematics, etc for reference. I would be interested in copies depending on what they contain.

Forrest, I too have been sending you emails about my member ID so I can order the T-Craft CD's from you. I paid my membership in May of this year via PayPal. I have sent you emails and the PayPal electronic reciept. You informed me that your " Fastest elf would look into this" that was back in August. I do not mean to be a pain but I would love to obtain a copy of the CD's...
                Sincerely, Mack Dobkins

                    Re: T-Craft Cd's

                    Well, this is awkward.

Hal, Mack, Dave, Mike, George...you're not alone. I've had email, phone, PM contact with many others who feel there's a problem in Forrestland. But noone wants to bring it up on the forum. And rightly so. Noone wants to make an enemy or pass judgement on someone who is probably doing their best.

But lets face it, the whole Forest/Foundation communication thing has become, well, difficult. It's gotton to the point where it's hurting all our efforts to support these marvelous old airplanes.

                    What can we do?

Maybe someone could volunteer to help. Anyone?

Or maybe more discussion is needed, maybe this should be the subject of another thread?...or maybe more private communications?

                        Re: T-Craft Cd's

I really think Forrest is far to valuable a resource to be wasted tracking foundation membership numbers and who has and hasn't paid their dues. He has a life outside this group and we constitute a significant burden on him keeping us happy. There used to be more active local Taylorcraft groups in different areas of the country (now world) who took up a lot of the load Forrest is carrying now. Maybe we should look into developing a chapter system to coordinate different parts of the Taylorcraft world. The Virginia Carolinas Taylorcraft club used to be a whole lot of fun, and there were several others sub-groups I used to get newsletters from outside of the area where I live.
If we join up in smaller groups (as well as the top level Foundation and Taylorcraft Club) we could off load some of the routine stuff from Forrest and he would be available more for the things he is REALLY valuable at.
It would be nice to have a map of the country showing how many Taylorcrafts are in each state so we could break the country (and other countries too) up into groups to split the workload up. Then each of the groups could take over some of the mundane chores that one person can never do well enough to keep everyone happy. Might even be a foundation for future dispersed manufacturing when the Taylorcraft factory starts making parts again.

                          Re: T-Craft Cd's

Hank, I am with you. We need what we have but it needs to be tweaked. Having payed my dues for years with out a number yet I have still used this forum as a resource many many times and plan on continuing to do so. What about we start a thread about spreading the workload and increasing the communications. We have several floating questions, STC's, Harer STC, FD #, CD's, and other mods. that have been made and are now in limbo like the various skylights, engine mods., rib stiching, Taylorcraft wire, etc. We cna not solve them all at once but we need to organize. Maybe some one can do a blog where we throw ideas out, or what about someplace like Twitter? As I know absolutely nothing about this sort of thing I am only trying to get the people smarter then me to chip in here.

                            Gentlemen,

I am in the same position (almost typed boat), been trying to communicate since April. However I am prepared to pitch in and help with whatever is decided. Remember that modern technology (internet) allows Administrators to work from anywhere in the world. All that is required is access to the relevant files, databases etc. I would also be happy to organise an African Chapter if required.

                            Best regards,
                            Charlie Flee

                              Re: T-Craft Cd's

Whether Forrest wants or needs help (and that is really his choice right now) we all really DO need to organize better. A great example was the recent call for someone to give a ride to a potential tribe member in Missouri. How can we NOT KNOW who has a Taylorcraft in any particular state?!?!?! Wouldn't it be nice to be able to plan that long desired cross country and know ahead of time where every tribe member is along the way? Wouldn't it be great to go out and meet someone from half way across the country at the airport when he passed through? Life is a party and most of us aren't showing up! Let's get organized locally and we can plan some fun events to do (or read about others doing). Look how popular the threads are from the Alaska guys.
In my opinion the first step is to find out who is close to each other. We need to get the location of all the members and plot them out on a map. Then we need to find the rest of the Taylorcrafts and start going after them to join the tribe, or at least get to know them.
I will start. Who lives in the MD, VA, NC, SC, WV area? Is anyone using the FRAPPR software? Check out http://www.frappr.com/taylorcraftowners and log on to it so we can see where everyone is.
Once we have some chapters loosely organized different sub groups can be farmed out for action and collected back together in a central location (giving Forrest a way to distribute organized information).
