  • Data Plate location

    Greetings -

While daydreaming here at work about the BC-12 I looked at this weekend, it occurred to me that I did not see the dataplate anywhere. I wasn't particularly looking for it, but I can't say that I saw it anywhere.

Where ought it have been, assuming there's a standardized location.

    Thanks!

    Re: Data Plate location

The "factory" plates I have seen were screwed to the floor just inside the pilots door (look under the carpet). I have also seen them attached to the back of the cockpit above the hat shelf where you usually see the clear plastic holder for the aircraft papers, but I can't believe they would have attached the plate to the headliner at the factory. The floorboards aren't "permanent", but at least you can't just pull them out without tools like you could a headliner.

Mine is rivited to the glareshield on the left side, it can be read looking thru the windshield. I doubt if it's original placement but that location makes a lot of sense to me.

Thanks. I'll have to ask about it next time I talk to the seller. I'll be heading to Hinesville, GA for work the next 3 weeks, so movement on selling the gold wing and buying the T-craft will slow, although I have a couple of people interested in the wing. Hope they bite. 'Tis a bad time to be selling a high-end toy.

Need to buy a lottery ticket for tonight, I guess.

Most are mounted to the floorboard under the carpet, however here are a few different locations where you will commenly find them....some are mounted to the door frame, baggage compartment lid,back/front side of door frame, on the panel,on the flare shield, and last but certainly not least, on the trim fairing that goes from the bottom of the door frame to the floorboard. Happy hunting, lol.
