    Re: NOS Cowling

Mark, would you like to share with us how you found a NOS cowl?

I found NOS spars from a guy who had them in his garage in the original box from 1946.

      Ray,
      We got lucky!
One of our tribe offered these gems on the buy-sell page two years ago and we jumped on them quickly. We were just starting Doc's restoration at that time.
Quite frankly, my biggest concern was to NOT SCREW UP. I could never look another T-craft restorer in the eye if I had messed these up.
      Best Regards,
      Mark Julicher

        Re: NOS Cowling

I bought one from the factory about 5 years ago, got the metal nose bowl from univair, made the boot cowl from scratch. I wound up cutting and blistering for mufflers and I still need to make a faring for the original carb air box, I have the prewar and added a bracket air filter. I cant wait until I get back to Alaska to fly her again. It will be a year in July since I last flew her...Tim
