  • T-Craft in old Hollywood movie

I was watching an old movie called "Foxy Brown" with Pam Greer
and the star gets a ride in an airplane . It was a pre-war T-Craft
with a Lycoming engine. There are some good shots of it landing
and the star even cranks it up escaping from the bad guys with an
"electric starter !" hahaha. She runs the plane over one bad guy
and then into a small shed and bends the ole bird up pretty good.
The movie was from the late 60's early 70's . I couldn't resist looking
up N26599 and low and behold the ole bird is still in the registry.
    A T-craft in the movies

Foxy Brown? Never even heard of it. Where did you see it? Worth looking for an old movie just to see a Taylorcraft on screen (even if it's the "lil screeen").

OK, just saw the clip with the Taylorcraft and based on that I don't think I will be beating down the doors at the video stores for a copy. Boy that must have been a REAL stinker. No wonder I never heard of it!

Even a Taylorcraft can't carry something THAT bad!

          Hank,
I disagree, you looked at it and I looked at it. Probably a lot of other Tcarters will too. I think the story line is weak, but the Tcart pulls it out.
It may very well become the new trendy movie..... Ha Ha Ha.

We should get a copy for an evening movie at the fly-in. Even if it is a HUGE stinker I can hear the cheers from the Tribe all the way in Virginia when the real star flies past.

            Beer will do that.

Isn't this the character that Beyonce's (SP?) character frrom Austin Powers is based in on?

I especially liked how the shot of the interior while the couple was flying showed clouds zipping by the side window...... yet, the outside ground shots show a clear SoCal day.

Man... those '70's flicks sure are crap compared to what we expect as standard today!

While we are on this subject we just watched a movie from the early to mid 60s called the skydivers. Just terrible. But, it does feature a lot of vintage airplanes. The most used is a Stinson 108 without a door as the jump plane. There is a scene very early where the main character attempts to fly a taylorcraft, but dosen't get it off the ground due to engine trouble. Tcraft featured skylights, but they blanked out on of the letters in the registration number. A few other tcrafts along with tripacers and cubs, cessna 120/140s, ercoups etc... appear in the background of most of the shots. Actually found this movie by watching old episodes of mystery science theater...
