Are Plans CD's still available?

If it is a Taylorcraft you will be able to get every dimension photo or any documentation on any component you will ever need right here. The Cub guys have an advantage in that they can actually BUY parts from a legitimate manufacturer, but there is nothing on a Taylorcraft you can't buy that you can't make in your garage.

I checked your profile and see that you are in Portland. I am across the river from you up in Washington. I have two Taylorcraft. One flies and the other I am restoring. I am no expert, but I will be glad to help out any way I can.

No pictures yet. I haven't bought it yet, I'm still trying to build a case for it to present to the VP of finance

I did find someone on Barnstormers who is selling some plans for a b12-a (I think that's what he said it was). Might get them, and see how usefull they are.

Before you jump on a set of plans for a b-12a you might want to see exactly what they are and what you have. There is no such thing as a b-12a (actually there IS a plane called the B-12A, but it is a 1930's Martin twin engine bomber. Great project and nice plans to have but not much use on a Taylorcraft). What you really need first is the N number and serial number from your potential project. Both should be in the logs. If you don't have logs, check the door hinges and the support metal that has the controls on the bottom of the instrument panel tube for a serial number. Get that to us and we can tell you what version of the Taylorcraft you have. The plans you are considering are probably for a BC-12-D or something similar, not a Martin bomber. (The Martin plans are probably collectible if that is what they are!)
If you can get the N number and serial number to us you will know what you are considering in less than an hour. Then you will have a good starting place for your project.

The more I look at the pile of parts I'm considering buying, the less I like it. There is realy nothing there I would trust my life to. I still want a project, can't afford anything that is airworthy, and really want to build it myself anyhow. Has anyone had any experience with these guys?
www.swickt.com ? They have plans, and pre-cut tubing kits. Plans are only $275 I think I'll start with that. They should be helpful no matter which way I go.
