Charles R. (Bob) Harer, 77, of 105 Valley View Drive, Jersey Shore, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 2, 2009, at the Manor Care Health Center in Jersey Shore.
Born Jan. 10, 1932 in Jersey Shore, he was a son of Charles C. Harer and the former Virginia Decker.
Bob was a 1949 graduate of Jersey Shore High School and later earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tri-State College.
During the Korean War, Bob served his country in the United States Army.
For many years Bob was the owner and operator of Harer Photo in Jersey Shore.
For 20 years he was a member of the Jersey Shore Water Authority and was a member of the Wings of Love Community Church in South Williamsport.
Surviving are his wife, the former Joan S. Seewald, whom he married on April 5, 1952 at the First United Methodist Church in Jersey Shore; a son, Robert A. Harer of Jersey Shore; two grandchildren, and a brother, Ronald Harer of New York.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 5, 2009, at the Frederick B . Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Burial will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery. His pastor, Rev. John Butler, will officiate. There will be no public visitation.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made in his name to Southern Care, 190 Choate Circle, Montoursville, Pa. 17754.
