  • wing tank strainer fuel line

I am installing my rebuilt wing tanks and would like to know what types of fittings are used between the tanks and the fuel line inside the fuselage. The original strainers appears to be a steel pipe with copper strainer. This is what caused most of the aluminum tanks to crack and fail where it entered the tank. I have a new brass strainer but need same type of connection to go through the rib and inside the cockpit area where it make a 90 deg. turn.

    Any suggestions?

Thanks Robert. If I knew how to add a spell checker to this site I would do so. On top of that my lap top has a bad "o" key. Time for an upgrade.

I wold like to post pictures of my project any sugjestions?

I have a spell check all the time. I used to use www.iespell.com and liked it. Now it seems to be a part of my Word program and shows up when ever I goof up and underlines my problem in red. I use a lot of red ink when typeing. Larry

PS: I just found it. It is in Internet Explorer; Tools; Options; General; Put a check mark in front of "Spell check".

                Laz,

If a picture is worth a thousand words, maybe these will help you get your fuel to where you want.

                  Richard:

do you have access to drawing A35 referred to in the one you posted? If so, I'd be interested in seeing it.

                  Thanks,

Here's my "before and after" shots. You should be able to work out which blue hydraulic fittings are required. My fuel line goes from the wing as shown in the third photo.

                      Thanks John and Bob.

I will uses Bobs’ upgraded fittings instead of the original steel pipe. The problem is I had to completely re-build my wing tanks because of cracks caused by the original pipe. The new flange fitting is longer than the original and would have to be modified to fit.

When I get a chance I will post some pictures of the “rebuilt” tanks.

                      Your help is always appreciated.

                        John,

No, I don't have drawing A35. I got the drawing posted above from someone on this site.
