  • shinn brakes

I have an A model 1937 with shinn brakes and wheels. The brakes are almost non existant. Id like to be able to hold for a run up. Your help would be very much appreciated in locating parts or adjusting the brakes to just hold for a run up. Thanks in advance Bill in Texas n19829

Hi, a good place to start would be to use the search function on this forum. Click on search box and type shinn and you will get to some pictures I posted and much other information.

Do you have the 3/4" wheels and brakes or the later 1"?

I had a cessna 195 some years back. It had goodyear brakes. Parts were hard to come by and EXPENSIVE! Wouldn't it be easier to just replace yours with clevelands? The old brakes are dangerous and costly.

Are the linings still good? Have you tried adjust the shoes?
