I saved the Taylor-wire when I removed the fabric. but the are still embedded in a 1" strip of 3 layers of fabric. It takes about 5 min. per wire to remove the fabric from the wire. Is this a false economy? - Mike

Mike, the Taylorcraft wire lays down much smoother than the new stuff. I would save it if I were you.

The wire just doesn't fit right and taylorcraft wire is not available as a far as I know.

So in my opinion economics aren't the issue.

But I suppose that you could compare your time spent recovering this wire to the time that you will spend bending "z" s into new wire that is too long (and buying the wire).

Maybe soaking them in lacquer thinner will make it easier?

That's the ticket Mike, a tray of solvent with alum. foil over it and the wires soaking in it overnight. Should peel apart with no problem then. Good call Dave.

There is a copy of a 337 that I did that allows the use of pull rivets instead of the martin wire in the tech reference section. Tim
