    Re: strut mounted camera gimbal

Really, really nice. Damned near choked me up, it was that pretty to watch-- in HD no less! My wife and I lived in Mesa for 4-1/2 years, but I wasn't doing any light, civil flying then. I missed out! Thanks for sharing.

The music is The Great Lakes Swimmers song "Your Rocky Spine." Loves me my Google...

Thanks a bunch for the video and for designing the mount.

Which CNC router are you using, BTW?

      Re: strut mounted camera gimbal

I'm using this triple head unit that was home made. has 28x50" (x,y) and about 8" of z. Accurate to .001"

Sure makes it easy to accurately produce parts repeatedly.

just an update. I have 2 pan and tilt versions ready to go for anyone who wants one.

also have a ground adjustable version built and ready.

more to be built in a couple weeks.

                Gyro Stabilization

been working with some gyro stabilization using off the shelf RC helicopter gyros. Works well. Need to add in some accelerometers to cancel the drift inherent with piezo gyro elements.

Here's a test video with gyros mounted to the same camera gimbal on an RC helicopter. Will re-purpose the concept on the Tcraft camera mount and get some aerial shots in a couple weeks.

Sorry, we couldn’t find that page
