  • Shinn Wheels Model 6C, Type 5HB

Cleaning the hangar - found a set of Shinn branded wheels for a straight axle (Model 6C, Type 5HB). Also have a Shinn branded outer half (Model 6C, Type 4HB) for a tapered axle. Any interested parties can PM me. Thanks. Doc

...next question...any ideas as to what aircraft the straight axle wheels might have gone on (circa 1940)? I must have picked these up at a fly-in sale when I first got started on this project. Doc

A friend has a Luscombe that uses Shinn straight axle wheels.

Depends on wheter it is 1-1/4" or 1-1/2" axles. Interstate, Luscombe, and the Aeronca L-16 used them I know. Throw them on ebay, they will bring fair money. That is where i have sold most of my straight axle stuff. If they are 1-1/4 you may want to hang onto those for inner spares for the taylorcraft
