Nose Tank

This is what I've been doing for thanksgiving, Actually working on my own plane, I decided to change out my nose tank, so I'm adding a inside fuel gage that I cut out of a wrecked F-19 tank and welded to the top of a 46 model tank, I've also since this picture added the vent line. It's going to be nice getting rid of the old cork and rod gage.

Just a question. Will you sloush it with a sealer. I'm ready to install my tank but unsure re: using a sealer.

No I never use sloushing sealer, only in floats. I will pressure test it again, which I already have done and if I find any leaks I weld it up. Sometimes the filler neck leaks, where it meets the alum. tank and I use pro seal, after cleaning it up real good. I use a vaccum cleaner and pull the sealer into the leak. after it sets up, its good to go. I always make sure the tank is not going to leak before it goes in. and that goes for all planes not just a T-craft. A T-craft nose tank is a little harder to put in and take out, than some tanks and you just don't want to do it a second time.

I have a repaired tank on my bird and if I use car gas little black flakes will come out of that tank sump. It never does this with 100LL so be carefull with your sloshing I would rather not. Mike
