  • Bungy chord tool and how to put them on

I have to break down my T-craft on floats for the winter so I will be installing the wheels.

Can I beg borrow or buy the tool from someone OR as this will not be flying could I somehow just lock the wheels in place using banding rope or any other material.

If you are talking about the Bungee tool to mount the gear, you can actually roll the plane around with a tight wrap and tie of rope where the bungees went. I wouldn't FLY like that, and I would watch for bumps that could jar the gear, but for rolling the plane around on a ramp or into a hangar, the rope works fine. My 45 has been like that for years. Seems like I took a BUNCH of wraps of cloths line (NOT just one continuous length! If the one rope breaks things could get nasty. Make SEVERAL individual wraps on each side).

If you decide to fly on wheels, DON'T FORGET YOU HAVE NO BUNGEES!!!!! I would lay the bungee covers on the glare shield, just in case.

I figured the rope would work and yea I thougt about several individual wraps for safety . I only need to roll her around so I guess the rope or whatever will do for now.
I won't forget either as I have never flown on wheels. She will be back on the
      floats before springtime I figure.

That's after I cut one foot off the back of my floats. I'm not kidding that is
what I am planning to do. I'll save that for another thread.

For rebuild we have ours tied up with plain Romex wire so we can roller her around the shop. Actually, we plan on putting on the shock cords tonight! Larry
