Re: Engine Upgrade for L-2 / Now is there an L-2 Clip Wing STC?
Great job on getting the engine upgrade all squared away. THANKS.
My question is whether there is an STC for a clip wing for the L-2? I haven't ever seen one, or anything on one, so I'm afraid not, but it's worth asking.
I want a two-seat LSA which is aerobatic, and think a clip wing L-2 might be great!
Thanks for any help!

Re: Engine Upgrade on Taylorcraft L-2 DCO-65
No structural mods as long as you don't get carried away with the weight of the powerplant installation. By analysis, we showed the structural margins are acceptable up to a certain installed weight of engine + starter + accessories + prop. There is a "installed weight" limit. As long as you stick with a lightweight starter, propeller and you'll be OK. And switching from the old Bendix mags to slicks saves some weight too.Terry Bowden, formerly TF # 351
