  • Grounded

I'm grounded until I either put the 65 back on or get a 337 to make the
A75 legal. Does anyone have what Forrest was referring to.
None from the factory. I use an old 337 issued by a DAMI to do the change, there are many out there.

I lost count on FAA CD's and phone calls made trying to find some paperwork.

I think Forrest is the fellow that can help here, maybe give him a phone call to expedite??

    That's my best guess.

        Re: Grounded

        Here's an idea.

Download and search the FAA registration data base, for example find all the bc12d's then within that group find all those that have an 75hp engine, then contact the owner OR buy the CD for that aircraft. Anyone that can use LINIX, UNIX or AIX can do all I decribed with a series of "greps" on one line.

          Lloyd,
Not sure if it would be of any help, but my 85 was approved on a 337. If you are looking for a guide or wording it might help. It was done without the weight change modifications (still 1200 limit). Could make you a copy.
          Let me know.

I would like a copy or give me the "N" # and I can buy the CD.

            Dave.
I have been buying CD's and calling owners of those Taylorcraft advertised with A-75's. It appears FAA records show lots of A-75 which aren't A-75's.
Some are A-65's modified to an A-75 maintaining the A-65 dataplate. I have some 337's that just show "someone previously installed" these are not old enough to be approved data but old enough that the local FSDO was still
involved without worrying about liability. I've even gotten stories of IA's who signed off on annuals but wouldn't when they knew the plane was being sold. I can get an IA to do and sign off the annual I have just decided to get the paperwork in order now instead of later.

I have been flying a Luscombe but really miss flying my Taylorcraft. The Luscombe just dosen't seem to want to get into the air as quickly as the Taylorcraft.
