Call me! 330 823-1168 right after Fly_in OR are you coming down. I got the cannon , no instructions. How does it mount? looks like vertical to get the right elevation. NEAT thing by Ron.
There is a '41 for sale at Poplar Grove, IL. I saw this plane last year, very nice, (and expensive). It was on E-Bay starting at $32,000.00 and did not sell if I remember correctly. I found it on other sites for $35,900.00. It is probably one of the nicest Taylorcrafts I have ever seen. Look up N790KK to find info on it.
If you are serious and not still kicking tires, I have a 1945 Taylorcraft BC12
with low time, all AD's complied with and ready to fly.
Good flying Taylorcrafts have not gotten cheaper since we last contacted each other, this one is $20,000, but depending on the ferry transportation I can deduct $2000.

What do you have to do to a 1941 Taylorcraft to make it worth 30K?
Pay someone else to restore it? Gold plate the tubing?
I don't know, but I have just tallied up what it would cost to replace my mags with new Bendix ones complete, gears, impulse and all. Looking at $5000 easy. And I don't really think that much of Bendix mags. The dollar sure is going into the toilet.

Right you are Bill, and while pretty planes are nice, one that is just a good solid performing machine flies as well and sometimes better.

Hi Flyguy, Have you checked out the Fresno Airparts exchange deal? ($775 with shielded harness and 8 plugs....) That's the way I went. Just building up the engine this week so haven't tested them yet.

Was going to mention that deal thats for TWO mags, if you don't have cores it's at little more I think it was around $100 more.
Howard do you know for sure?
I've been using those old Bendix for 26 years, rebuilt completely one time, starts on second swing in hot weather immediately after landing and dropping off passenger from 1 hour flight.
Fresno gives you BG plugs, they have been good for me.
Howard, Dave, Thanks for that information. I just got back from Fresno Airparts. They are always very helpful and sold me quite a few goodies today, but I guess he didn't recognize the sales opportunity considering the kind of parts I was buying.
I assume I would have to change everthing over for Bendix; I don't even know if my gears or couplers from the Eisemanns would fit.
Anyway I suspect the Eisemanns will be working much better pretty soon, if you get my drift.
Ron, sorry about Hij***ing your thread, it appears you were finished with it anyway.
