  • Copper vice stainlesss scrubbing pads?

I had been using a stainless pad (dishwashing wad of stainless strands) to go over aluminum (do not use steel as it imbeds in the aluminium I am told). I'm not seeing stainless pads on the shelves, but I am seeing copper pads.
Any reason I couldn't use copper to remove whatever from aluminum? - MikeH

Mike, use a Scotchbrite pad...it wont embed anything in the aluminum...your stainless is doing the same thing a steel pad would.

Go dowing to the local auto paint shop and get scotch brite, the color dictates the grit. I get several grades and use where necessary. You can also try Norton abrasives, they have good products. Tim
