Re: felt padding for fuel tank
We sewed tape with one row of stitching down the middle. Brushed adhesive on tubing. After tank was in place we slid felt in place, and wet the tape with MEK. Presto felt impermanently in place. Larry"I'm from the FAA and we're not happy, until your not happy."

Re: felt padding for fuel tank
When I re built the Baby Ace last year I went over to the local fabric store and found some felt or felt like material (came off a roll) . Any way I just cut it into strips and glued them to the Cub straps for the Cub tank to nest in. Looked just like the orginal stuff tht the orginal owner used off an old Cub and all is flying well!! Remember these things were built in the 40s they probably used exactly what I used...I realize I am Experimental but I am not very far off this one !
