  • Glue removal

I'm in the process of removing old glue from my wing.
MEK does soften the glue and allow it t0 be scrapped off with a credit card and a non-metallic scrubbing pad.

Now - I know that when I'm removing primer from metal, if it doesn't come off easily, one may assume it's adhering tightly and may be primed over the existing primer. I'm trying to draw a parallel to glue.

If I've soften, removed as much as practical, and smoothed the rest, can the remainder stay in place or MUST the old glue be completely removed, even though it appears to still be adhering tightly to the metal?

    Re: Glue removal

You need to make sure the old glue and the new covering process are compatible. Tom
