  • Sun and Fun

    Folks,

We'll have a 50 X 50 both at Sun n Fun this year. We are gearing up to announce a few new projects - including a ROTEC 7 Cylinder Radial Engined BC12 called the "Bushwhacker". We'll have the engine mounted on our freshly restored BC12 Fuse, although we'll be producing our own fuse for production runs. Also going to have some Light Sport Aircraft Stuff to show.

If you all want to meet there, we'd love to see everyone. We'll have a tent and a cooler full of water. Let me know what you all think about it.

We're right about in the middle of the center triangle of 50 x 50 displays. Maps are available - Exhibit Space 25. How's that for a description???

We'll have our Ridge Runner and the Bushwhacker/BC12 with the Radial out front on display. Hopefully, we'll have some banners up also.

Yup - only spot we could get. We will have several LSA options, including a tandem seat Ridge Runner that we plan on hanging an 80 h.p. Aero Vee on, Should be quite a little Bush Plane! We also have a LSA version of the Tcraft (That's the Bushwhacker) which we are marketing, so the space and area kind of fit our business.

Just got off the phone with my partner. We want to have a Texas BBQ served on control sticks, and margaritas served in capped off exhaust pipes. don't see anything in the rules and regs that prohibit that!!! Maybe the margaritas aren't a good idea around airplanes! We just want to have a fun time and can't wait to talk airplanes with everyone!

            Sun and Fun Schedule

I will be there from Tuesday thru Friday evening.

Lets plan to meet at side of the Antique Classic shack each day at
1:00 for a few minutes; I will try to be there each day for an hour
to answer questions and give out info although I could never come close to the knowledge and experience (and charm) that Bruce and Forrest have.

The Forum Tent meeting is Thursday at 1:00pm to 2:00pm. Check the meeting schedules for the tent number. I will do a short introduction and then call on others to speak up. You will do me a big favor if you could talk for a few minutes on some aspect that you have been working with. Please let me know ahead of time if you can come and talk as it will calm my nerves to know I have some help ahead of time.

I will be checking email at night at [email protected]
and my Cell phone is 281 222 5396.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

            Bob.

[Edit: Well I'm going to be there now, arriving 13th till the bitter end]

              To all:

Unfortunately it is unlikely I will be able to be there at Sun & Fun; however, I will look forward to hearing of others who will be able to pass on their experiences of flying, operating and maintaining their Taylorcrafts, and perhaps some anecdotes of some journeys they have undertaken, that they can pass on to the assembled multitude.

Fof those going to SnF, I hope everyone will support the Taylorcraft Forum, preferably with some input, but at least with your attendance!

              Best wishes,
              Rob

Sounds like we will be having a good time at Sun and Fun this year. With any kind of luck I will be making the event.

How about a roll call of those planning to be there.....

                        We're keeping busy for sure.

Our motor mount pieces are tied up in Customs. They seem to think they resembled a bomb coming in from Australia!! (Little pieces of steel tubing - who'd of thunk?)
Hopefully they'll be here in time to hang our radial on the Tcraft!

We'll be there having fun, talking airplanes, and getting a tan -whatever happens!

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Here is a small referance to radials on TAYLORCRAFTS

Then I got a real nice treat yesterday. Carlos was in town with his T-6 team, and I got to fly with them in low formation over the beaches of Rio and then up in the mountains, for a smoke display over a resort hotel. What an exciting show this was for me, makes me want to upgrade my T-craft with a radial engine!

This is from Hans' post of 03/18/04
                          .

When Hans comes home that engine will be tired. We'll have to swap that old Conti' out for him.

Is everyone following him?? What a journey!
