  • Screw attachment of wing fabric

Looking for some info on attaching wing fabric to stamped ribs with self-tapping screws. Any ideas?

Aeroncas used #4 x1/4" sheet metal screws which worked fine till the hole got enlarged. Sometimes more holes had to be drilled to get the screw to tighten up. Also, Citabrias used 1/8" aluminum pop-rivets which works great, easy to install and fast. This would work fine on the stamped rib provided the flange is large enough. at least 3/8". You might need to get a field approval since they didn't come from the factory that way.

Sir, do you have a copy of that STC that you could send me? I’m not having much luck contacting the STC owner. Russ Williams. 214-205-7555
