  • aileron droop

    Hey guys,
If you look at the trailing edge of my wings from the rear of the Taylorcraft, you notice that both the ailerons droop about three inches. If you lift them, they come up to the normal position. They both have the same amount of slop, and I'm curious to know what to look for. You folks are the best source of information that there is for the care and feeding of our children,
and I trust the information that I get on this site over any other source. Sabrina

Sabrina, they should droop by 1/4" approx. This 1/4" then comes up to neutral in flight due to aerodynamic forces.

3" means that something in the aileron cables circuit is slack, probably the aileron balance cable.

Ask your AI to have a look at it. The up-and-down movement is limited by the requirements of the Type Certificate, this should help him and you get the cables right.
