AK Tribe Gathering?

Hey AK Tribe...we've been batting around the idea of getting together for an informal gathering to admire each other's flying machines, share ideas, and tell war stories. Is anyone interested in next Sunday, May 18 or Saturday May 24? Possible locations could be Willow, Goose Bay, Hope, or wherever anyone else would like to suggest that is fairly central and has some room to park airplanes. If we make it an afternoon event I could bring along a BBQ grill and some burgers. If you're more interested in a breakfast event I have a small generator for running a grill. It's just a thought since the weather is getting good and most of us are still on wheels. Either way, I plan to track you guys down individually this summer, so be ready!

Let me know what you think, and if you're up for it what location you would prefer.

I am not flyable till next month, then I am game. Big lake or somewhere near a an eatin joint would be good, or maybe palmer Muni...

I would like to get a look at your '41. Big Lake or Palmer would be fine with me, if I'm not on floats by then. I also read that Skwenta has an eatery within walking distance. Does anyone know if that's true? I totally spaced out that Saturday, May 24 is Memorial Day weekend and I think I'll be heading up to Fairbanks.

If anyone wants to meet up somewhere next Sunday (5/18) I'm still game. I'll be finding some excuse to fly somewhere anyway, as long as the weather cooperates. We can do something in June as well.

I might be able to do this Sunday afternoon, if it's later in the afternoon, Jim. Hope would be good or somewhere in the valley. They did have a restaraunt in Skwetna in a house there, but not sure if it's still operating. Good job for initiating this. Steve.

The 18th would work for me. I will be on wheels all year. During the summer months, any sandbar close to some good fishing would be fine.

What do you think about heading up to Skwentna if the weather is decent Sunday afternoon? Pete, if you know where we can find some fish I'm up for the gravelbar/fishing pole plan.

THis sunday will work for me...Sounds great. Wheres the destination? roadhouse in skwenta?
Fishing on the kenai is mostly closed until June 11 for trout. but i hear the kings are in the kenai already.

Ak Tribe...I would love to be going up there with you guys...however, my dear wife graciously put up with me being gone on Mother's Day, to take in the Valdez program, which involved about 4 days all told, so I will pass on this one...Have a good time together. Perhaps you can get some pictures...! Hopefully we can setup another get-together before too long. Dick
