Re: The new AD is out!

You should call the FAA office in Ok. City.

There is usually a contact # for the office that handles AD's, try that one. Opps! its not there any more, I have it on disc packed in boxes that I'll never find soon. :-( Try the 800 number or I can PM you a user name to contact.

In the past they have skipped planes mistakenly because of the way they set up their data base search.

Once they learn their mistake they will correct the search and send to the others that they missed.

The same thing happened to me on my Areonca, I never got the spar AD. After I called the figured out the problem and fixed that part.

Of course the real problem is that the programmer doesn't know how to set up an exhaustive search and they missed you and me and others.

If I am to understand the AD correctly...

It states: if the plane is equipped with skis or floats at the time the inspection is required, or if the floats or skis are installed after, the inspection must be repeated per the guidelines.

That seems to imply that if you do not use floats or skis, then you do not need any additional inspections to be documented.

      Does this sound correct?

Re: The new AD is out!

The AD says about the first inspection:

        (i) For airplanes that have never been equipped with floats or snow skis: Within the next 90 days
after June 6, 2008 (the effective date of this AD).

(ii) For airplanes equipped with or that have ever been equipped with floats or snow skis: Within
the next 30 days after June 6, 2008 (the effective date of this AD).

Then if not currently equipped with floats of skis or if they are not added later, repeated inspection not required.
