    This relates to an old post, "A-65 Stumbles" Thanks to all who answered. Last winter I put in a tank of 100LL for the first time in place of mogas. I left the fuel shutoff on while it sat for the winter months. This spring the stumble, which had been severe, was gone.

      900 SMOH on a '63 172 with the O-300D. 99% of that time on 100LL. We rebuilt the motor to new limits with Superior cylinders. Clean the plugs every other annual (about 150 hours). Never had any more lead build up in the plugs or valve area than I see in the big Lycomings. All cylinder compressions are still in the mid-70's.
      I always run .4 - .5 gph over book and always 75%+ in cruise.
