  • Univair Strut Markings

Can anyone out there help me on this one my logs state that the front stuts were replaced four years ago on my F21 but they don't say who's were used. I was hoping they were Univair and I could just replace the rear stuts and be good with the AD so I called Univair and was told to look for thier marking a U with a circle stamed into the strut.
Could someone that already has the new struts from Univair describe or post a picture so I can see what I'm looking for, could that marking be coved up with paint?
Thanks in advance for any help.

    Re: Univair Strut Markings

We have a set from a while back. They are already painted. I looked for the mark and did not find it, but we have paperwork to go with the struts. You can remove the bolt from the top end of the struts check for the solid bushing where the bolt goes through, also check to make sure there is no drain hole in the bottom end of the struts. These together would be a good indication that they are sealed. If you know who purchased the struts Univair might be able to check their records too. Tom

      Re: Univair Strut Markings

      Tom,
Thanks for the reply I think mine are Univair the logs state that in 2005 new factory struts were installed and I think Univair was the only suppier of TCraft stuts back then. I have ordered rear struts and will strip the fronts of paint after they are off the plane and hopefully find thier marking. Thanks again, Mike
