  • I need help! Future T-Craft Pilot

I need help. I am a student here in Washington with the dream of flying in Alaska. I worked for the park service in Alaska last year and hope to prepare myself to get a pilot job for one of the agencies up there. I was luck enough to inherit enough money to just barely get a plane for about 20,000. I want to use it to get my private ticket in and then continue to build time in. I decided to go with a Taylorcraft because I can afford a decent one and I can eventually learn some off airport skills in it. I have head a lot of good things about these from many of the Alaskans I talked to.

Anyway...... I was looking at a plane for sale on barnstormers for about 20,000 but I am unsure if it is a good one and it is in Minnesota. Has a low time engine and recent fabric as well as some nice mods like wing tanks, ect. I am wondering if anyone has seen this plane and would recommend it, I am also hoping someone could recommend a good mechanic in Minnesota I could pay to do an inspection. Know of any other planes for sale I should look at? Any help would be greatly appreciated. My name is lincoln. My email is [email protected].

Get a prebuy inspection from someone that is familiar with older aircraft and who was not the person doing the maint for the last decade, this way you can get a unbiased opinion of the condition. Do not be in too much of a hurry but if it seems like a good buy, dont lose it either. Aopa can do a title search if you so desire. I would recommend it. If you have any questions, you can Pm me or just about anyone else on here to ask questions. Good luck. Tim
