Will a BC12D exhaust sys. fit an open cowl???

Hi all,
Trying to collect all of the parts for the Lyc. to Cont. engine swap. Is the continental exhaust system the same for open and closed cowl planes? Thanks. Howard

Howard,
yes it is the same. But if your open cowl was trimmed to fit a lycoming or franklin, you may need to trim some other places slightly.

Thanks Terry those pics are just what I needed! Are you saying that I could have modified my Lyc cowl to fit the Cont?????

A few years ago I changed one from a Lycoming to a Continental. I re-used the nose bowls, and made new flat pieces. It was about a day job. Tom

As we discussed the nose pieces can fit, Lyc has a small hole , The older Exhaust was two piece up stack for the 50HP ; I have an A-50 up stack engine & exhaust here for sale...... e-mail [email protected]
