I have a question folks. I have a 1940 BC65, and my friend thinks that the engine mount that was put on the plane when it was restored (from parts of three planes), is a Lycoming mount. I didn't think that a Continental would bolt up to the Lycoming mount.
Anyway, the mount for my gascolator is a tab that is welded to the left side diagonal of the engine mount.
I have a photo of a 1940 being built at the factory in Chet Peeks book that shows it mounted on the bottom of the firewall in the center, like they did on the Cessna 140's. Which way is correct for my plane?
