  • Door Style & Serial Number

I have a 6000 series serial number fuselage and paperwork for a 10000 series serial number. My fuselage has smaller, all metal doors. I have seen larger doors on late '46 BC12-D's. At what point did the door style change? And were can I get the drawings/info to add the later type doors to my fuselage (the correct style for my later serial number paperwork)?

    Thanks,

sometime in early 46 they changed, I am not sure of the date, I have a set of doors around here somewhere for the later 46 model BC12D.

Late 45 models had prewar steel tube doors. Early 46 had the bigger aluminum doors with wood frames. Mid to late 46 and later have the big door but metal frames. Doors will not interchange between wood and metal frames. Yours should have the metal door frames.
