That could take a while and cost me alot more than just letting me put a tab over the fuel control.

I'm losing my mind with all these little things that you are "supposed" to be allowed to do and yet I'm running into bureaucratic red tape at every single stop with this plane.

Does any one have a 337 for an alternate method for complying with that fuel control AD?

or, does anyone have a factory drawing of the actual part mentioned in the AD? If I had a factory drawing he would let me make my own but it would have to be exactly to the factory drawing.

    Hi DJ,

    Couple of thoughts.

I suggest getting Forrest to post or send you a drawing. That's what the Foundation is supposed to be there for.

I had 6 from old factory, they are gone, I have posted picture many times, sometimes you use two of them each airplane. It is a standard AD.

Re: in need of fuel cutoff control clip

having seen some pictures and heard about these clips more I've realized that my Tcraft does in fact have them installed. Problem is over time they have been bent outward and no longer lock the control in place.

Both my IA and I assumed there was another, third piece, that wrapped around the front of the control and that's what I had been asking for until now.

So I guess what I need to do is have him try to bend them back so that they keep the control knob contained within.

YES bend them back, they were Mickey Mouse at best in the first place.
I just realize when I touch them that that is the fuel shut off!!
LOOK, THINK, TOUCH, PULL BE READY TO PUSH....... drawings could be done but the official drawings are at the factory , I could supply one original for copying to someone.

Re: in need of fuel cutoff control clip

I can do a set of "reverse engineering" drawings with a sample. Doesn't look like to bad a drawing project. If I can save it as a jpg file everyone should be able to print them from a posted picture.
Owner manufactured parts can be either drawn, made or Quality checked by the owner.

Once I make one for myself I might be able to post a bending tool too.

I am in need of the cut-off switch stop. Does anyone know where I can get one. Does it have to be the same as the factory stop or can something be fabricated.

Man your timing is just a tiny bit off! I made a new one and installed it...YESTERDAY!
I will be going back out again next weekend and it won't take but a few minutes to pull it and trace it for you. I made a second one from a broom hanger from the hardware store that looks pretty good and works a lot better than the original. I can trace both. (I put the original on to avoid problems with using a home made one. I'll use the other one on the 45).
If you have known me for very long you will know you need to REMIND ME Thursday night (going out Friday) or I can assure you, I will forget!

                    Hank,

Thanks for the reply. Is there a way I can talk to you by phone or private email
