Are there any AD's on the O-145? I have looked all over the FAA site and Lycoming site, No luck.

Re: Lyc. O-145-B2 ADs
Mike,
No there are none. You do want to make sure you adjust the valves as recommended and re-tourque the heads. Also, try to find an extra servicable set of heads and head gaskets just so you will have them later. As long as you maintain it and don't abuse it they are not too bad to give trouble but eventually you will have to replace head gaskets and maybe a head.....these items are not that expensive but very hard to find if you need them in a hurry.Kevin Mays

Re: Lyc. O-145-B2 ADs
Hi Mike, Search 'head gaskets' here on the forum, good info on gasket availability. The last cylinder head I bought was $750. There is a fellow on this site that has access to pushrod tube seals. There are some service bulletins for these engines, though nothing earth shattering: SB 108 Sept. 5, 1944 - Magnaflux inspection of Lyc. O-145 and GO-145 Aircraft Engine Crankcases, SB 117 Jan 9, 1945 - Salvage of O-145 Heads with Stripped Spark Plug Holes by Installing 18MM Heli Coil Steel Inserts, SB 120 Feb 14, 1945 - Salvage of O-145 Heads with Stripped Spark Plug Holes by installing Spark Plug Bushing, Part No. 45399, SB 121A Apr 30, 1957 Replacement of Crankshaft Oil Seals, SB 123 Apr 25, 1945 - Bearing Crankshaft Front for O-145 and GO-145 Series Engines, SB 124 Aug 23, 1945 - Valve Seat Reconditioning Tools. These are all "how to" informational kinds of info. If you are interested in any of these I'll try to post them on this site or my gallery. Howard20442

Re: Lyc. O-145-B2 ADs
OK, the first batch are in my Gallery. Page 9. Will try to post the rest tonight. As far as I can tell the Lycoming manual and these SB's are not copyrighted. If anyone can show me that they are I will take them down. Anybody using the information posted should do a thorough check with an IA to make sure that the information is still valid, and not just a historic document of interest.20442

Howard, you mentioned that "There is a fellow on this site that has access to pushrod tube seals.". I searched and did not find any threads related to that. Do you know who it is? Thanks.
