  • Traveling to AK new summer

To all of our frends in Ak.
My wife and I are starting to plan a trip to the most northern state.
We are looking for Ideas on places to visit.

How can we see the bears feeding on the rivers? We are thinking about taking a ship one way and flying back out.
    Any sugestions would be welcome.

If you are heading through Southeast Alaska, make a point of visiting Pack Creek which is about a 30 minute flight from Juneau over in the Seymour Canal. Absolutely spectacular bear viewing!

If visiting Sitka, check out the Allen Marine tours. They have quite a variety and can visit many areas around Sitka due to the speed of their vessels (20+ knots). Bears can often be seen and the boats can get quite close to shore. It's not unusual to be a 100 yards or less from the bears.

Thanks for the information, keep them coming. Looks like the trip is being set up for June of 2008.
